Spotlight Series: Michael Dinich of Your Money Matters, Inc.
Brent Meyer, Founder of SafeMoney.com, sits down with Michael Dinich, founder of Your Money Matters Inc., to explore his client-first approach to retirement planning. With more than 35 years of experience, Michael is dedicated to helping people avoid costly mistakes, protect their assets, and secure the lifetime income they need to enjoy retirement with peace of mind.
In this Spotlight Series interview, Brent Meyer, Founder of SafeMoney.com, speaks with Michael Dinich of Your Money Matters about his relationship-driven, trust-based philosophy. Drawing on decades of experience and an unwavering commitment to putting clients first, Michael shares how he helps families avoid market losses, reduce unnecessary costs, and build financial stability—so they can face the future with confidence and truly enjoy life in retirement.
Brent Meyer: Michael, thank you for joining us. Can you share your overall approach to retirement planning?
Michael Dinich: Absolutely. At Your Money Matters, we are the best at what we do because we genuinely care about our clients. Their needs come first—always. Every recommendation we make is designed to protect and serve them, not us.
Brent Meyer: You’ve been in the industry for more than three decades. What kinds of experiences have shaped your philosophy?
Michael Dinich: Over my 35 years in this business, I’ve helped clients avoid market losses, probate costs, and unnecessary attorney fees. One of my biggest focuses is ensuring my clients have a guaranteed lifetime income they can’t outlive. Retirement should be about enjoying life—not constantly worrying about the “what ifs.” My goal is to help them face the unknown with confidence.
Brent Meyer: Ethics are clearly important to you. How do you ensure your clients’ best interests always come first?
Michael Dinich: It’s simple—we always do right by the people we serve. They come first at all times. Their trust is everything, and our entire business is built on protecting and honoring that trust.
Brent Meyer: When someone is choosing a financial advisor, what should they look for?
Michael Dinich: Look for peace of mind and confidence. This industry has its share of promises, but lasting relationships come from proven experience. We’ve been in business for over 35 years for a reason: trust.
Brent Meyer: How do you stay current with industry trends and changes?
Michael Dinich: I stay up to date by attending CE (Continuing Education) classes regularly. The financial world is always evolving, and staying current ensures our clients get the most relevant and effective strategies.
Brent Meyer: Tell us about your planning strategies—how do you make them effective?
Michael Dinich: We take a partnership approach. We work together for life. If a client lets me know there’s an issue, I do everything I can to find the right solution. We also conduct regular planning reviews and make sure every strategy is tailored to the individual or family. Nothing we do is “one-size-fits-all.”
Brent Meyer: Financial literacy is key to client empowerment. How do you address that?
Michael Dinich: We have entire books designed for different age groups to help them understand the basics and get started on their financial journey. Education is an essential part of creating lifelong stability.
Brent Meyer: What are your long-term goals as a financial advisor?
Michael Dinich: My long-term goal is simple: create peace of mind and lasting financial stability for our clients in retirement. Success is when they can live the life they want without fear of running out of money.
